Who We Are ?

The Burundian Association for a World of Peace Without Drugs (ABMPD) is a non-profit organization founded in 2017.
We work to reduce drug-related risks, protect children, and support vulnerable populations across Burundi through
prevention, education, and community-based interventions.

Our Areas of Intervention

ABMPD intervenes in key social and public health areas to promote peace,
protect children, and reduce the risks associated with drug use.

Socio-economic reintegration

Support for local initiatives that improve the lives of vulnerable communities.

Child Protection

Protection, prevention, and reintegration of children at risk, including those affected by abuse, exploitation, and neglect

Human Trafficking & Safe Migration

Prevention of internal and cross-border trafficking, protection of migrant women, and support to survivors.

Harm Reduction & Drug Use

Reducing health risks linked to injectable and non-injectable drug use through community-based interventions.

Health, Hepatitis & HIV Prevention

Community awareness on hepatitis B & C, HIV prevention, testing, and access to care for key populations.

Youth Health & Well-being

Mental health support, health education, sports activities, and access to health services for youth.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

Legal assistance, psychosocial support, and protection of victims of gender-based violence.

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

Improving access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene awareness to prevent diseases.

Advocacy & “Support. Don’t Punish”

Advocating for health-centered drug policies and access to services for key populations.
